Skatedeck !

Both the pictures above gave me an idea of the graffiti art in the late 70's and early 80's. I searched for fonts that looked similar to the writing style of these graffiti arts and applied it to my skate deck, using their styles for both my name on the skate deck and the brand name on the skate deck.

The abstract art over here influenced me to use an abstract background for my skate deck. Seeing that this background didn't match what I had in mind for the subject I wanted to implement onto my skate deck, I decided to get a background that was similar to this but with a darker feel.

In the late 70's to early 80's, people seemed to enjoy artwork with skulls, crossbones and other afterlife related figures, although it was rare, they had them. The skeleton on this skate deck motivated me to make a skeletal figure myself for my skate deck. I wanted to give it a sort of motion so I made my skeleton figure stick its hands out with a crown on it's hand, which lead me to the idea of making a slogan, "Check Mate".
Here is the process of how I did my skate deck and the final result itself.

Here are the results.
